Didn’t see this one coming….

After almost 80 days, UNC-Wilmington has decided to hire Appalachian State head coach Buzz Peterson. Peterson is 225-147 in 12 seasons as a head coach (App. St., Tulsa, Tennessee, Coastal Carolina, and back to App. St.) He has had two one year stints – winning 26 games at Tulsa in 2000-01 before moving to Tennessee, and this past season at Appalachian State. He won 24 games before he decided to pack up shop and move again. After waiting nearly 3 months, this is an interesting hire to say the least……

A press conference is scheduled for this afternoon to announce the hiring.
