Brett Barnard has been named as the new Head Coach of the ACPHS Men’s Basketball Team. Barnard replaces Craig Tynan, who has served as the head coach for the past 13 seasons and wished to transition into the assistant coach role for the upcoming season.
"I am excited to have Brett step up to become the new head coach of the men’s basketball team," said Ryan Venter, Director of Athletics and Recreation. "Craig and Brett have discussed over the past year about switching roles and I think Brett is ready to lead the team as we approach the 2013-14 season."
The ACPHS men’s basketball team had one of its best years in recent history, finishing with a 13-8 record, including earning a trip to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Championship Tournament in Uniontown, Pennsylvania at the end of the season.
"It’s a dream come true to be able to lead a college program," said Barnard. "I am really looking forward to to continuing to build on the recent success of last year’s team. Our main goal is to get back to the USCAA tournament, but we also want to compete for the Hudson Valley Athletic Conference championship."
