Albany State University Head Men’s Basketball Coach Patrick Gayle is pleased to announce the hiring of Adrian White as Assistant Coach of the men’s basketball team.
“I am incredibly humbled and honored that Coach Gayle and the ASU administration have chosen me to serve as the assistant coach of the program,” White said. “I am truly blessed for this opportunity to join the Golden Rams family, and work for a program with a tradition of excellence both on the court and in the classroom.”
White comes to ASU from St. Thomas University in Miami, Fla., where he has served as the Interim Head Basketball Coach last season. Under White’s guidance, the Bobcats finished with a 11-17 overall record and 10-8 in conference play, while being nationally ranked no. 25 in the NAIA Division I poll.
“We’re extremely excited to add Coach White to our ASU Men’s Basketball family,” Coach Gayle said. “Adrian is one of the best up-and-coming coaches in the state of Florida, and his connections at the high school and junior college levels will prove to be beneficial in recruiting. He’s an outstanding coach, and will help our program from the moment he steps on campus.”
Prior to his interim head coaching position at St. Thomas University, White served as an associate head coach for the 2017-18 season. Adrian also served as a volunteer coach during the 2016-17 season at STU.
White played collegiately at Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens, Fla. from 2007-2019 and 2010-2012.
White earned his bachelor’s degree in communication with a concentration in public relations from Florida Memorial University in 2013.
