Multiple sources are reporting that Jason Capel will be the next head coach at Appalachian State. Jason just finished his first season at Appalachian State, which was his only experience as a coach. Capel helped the Tar Heels to the 2000 Final Four, played professionally in Serbia, Japan and Italy, as well as for Fayetteville in the NBA’s Developmental League. This is very surprising hire, most people thought that Matt McMahon, would be hired. McMahon has spent the last 10 seasons on the sidelines at his alma mater.
