I can confirm that Austin Peay assistant Rick Cabrera will join the staff at Arkansas State. He will replace Vince Walden who departed for Elon last week.

Cabrera has been on Matt Figger’s staff at Austin Peay for the past two seasons. He has also been an assistant at his alma mater Tennessee Tech, as well as Chattanooga. Additionally, Cabrera spent time as the head coach at Lackawanna Junior College where he went 100-28 during his tenure.

An official announcement is expected shortly.
