OFFICIAL: UNCW parts ways with Peterson

The contract of fourth-year UNCW men’s basketball Head Coach Buzz Peterson has been terminated, UNCW Athletic Director Jimmy Bass announced Tuesday. HOT RUMOR: Good out at LMU

I have heard tonight that Max Good will not have his contract renewed at Loyola Marymount. Good just wrapped up his sixth season at LMU with a 13-19 record (4-14 WCC). No word if the official press release will come tonight or tomorrow morning. I’ll pass it along as soon as I see it.

South Dakota rumor…

Multiple sources have told me this morning that South Dakota interim head coach Joey James will not be retained. James took over for Dave Boots who retired in September and led the Coyotes to a 12-18 (6-8 Summit) record. He played at South Dakota and was an assistant there for ten seasons. More on this

According to the Tennessean, Travis Williams has been fired at Tennessee State. Williams suffered thought a 5-25 season and compiled a 23-40 record in his two seasons. HOT RUMOR: Buzz Peterson out at UNC-Wilmington

Multiple sources have said that Buzz Peterson is out as the head coach at UNC-Wilmington. Peterson, who has been at UNCW since 2010, went 9-23 this season. I’ve also heard he will continue to get paid for the remaining years on his contract. More on this when it becomes official.
