Liban Awl has been named the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Randolph-Macon College.
Awl most recently was an assistant coach at his alma mater, Chestnut Hill College, which he was named in April 2020. Prior to that, Awl assisted the Freshman, JV, and Varsity teams at Osbourn Park High School in Manassas, Va. from 2019-2020.
“We are extremely excited to have Bon join the Jacket family,” said Head Coach Josh Merkel. “He is a blue-collar worker with a growth mindset committed to helping college athletes develop. He will push our guys forward and add value right away with his previous experiences as player and coach.”
During his time at Chestnut Hill College (2015-2019), Awl was a four-year letter winner who ranks among the Scarlet and Gold’s Top-10 All-time in three-point field goals made (6th, 131), thee-point field goals attempted (6th, 384), free throws made (9th, 212), free throw percentage (9th, .760), points (10th, 895), three-point percentage (10th, .341), free throws attempted (10th, 279), and assists (10th, 181).
A native of Northern Virginia, Awl was an All-Conference 8 performer while leading Patriot High School to the 2014-2015 Class 6B Regional Tournament. Awl graduated from Chestnut Hill College in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in digital forensics. He also minored in criminal justice.
