Kent State University men’s basketball coach Rob Senderoff has announced the hiring of Brian Barnes as Video Coordinator/Special Assistant to the Head Coach.
“Brian finished his graduate assistantship over the last two years,” said head coach Rob Senderoff. “He’s an incredibly hard working young man with a bright future in coaching. We are pleased to retain and promote him in this capacity. He has a great knack for video, and helps our program a great deal in that area. We look forward to him continuing to assist our program.”
Barnes returns to the bench for the Golden Flashes in his third year with the program. Over his time, Barnes has developed into the team’s lead on video analysis, while assisting in program operations.
In Barnes’ time with Kent State, he has helped the Golden Flashes win 41 games and hold a .603 winning percentage. Barnes was integral to the staff during the run to the 2017 Mid-American Conference Championship and the program’s return to the NCAA Tournament.
Barnes received his undergraduate degree in sport management from Central Michigan in 2015 and is currently finishing his graduate program at Kent State. He resides in Stow with his wife, Michelle.
