According to the Times Union, College of Saint Rose men’s basketball coach Brian Beaury, who was to begin his 29th season at the school, announced he will be taking a leave of absence due to ongoing health issues.
The 54-year-old Beaury, who owns a 574-275 (.646) record, will be out a few weeks and perhaps longer, according to a statement released by the school on Friday.
Beaury will have regular contact with the team and coaching staff throughout his absence, according to the school.
Assistant coach Mike Perno, a 2000 graduate of Saint Rose, will coach the team in Beaury’s absence.
