Top 25 Nationally Ranked Combine Academy, International Boarding High School and Sports Performance Center located just outside of Charlotte, NC in Lincolnton, has announced the hiring of National High School Basketball Head Coach, Ben Betts, from Winthrop University.
With over 30 years of college coaching experience, Ben Betts, a Madison Heights, VA, native, was the Head Coach of NCAA Division 1 South Carolina State from 2003-06 where he led the Bulldogs to winning the MEAC Conference as well as defeat Miami and Penn State, two established Power 5 programs. Coach Betts also has a proven knack for developing pros. He developed NBA Veteran, Blake Griffin, while serving as assistant coach at the University of Oklahoma, as well as NBA Veteran Robert Covington while serving as an assistant coach at Tennessee State University.
Combine Academy, an industry leader in student-athlete performance and educational development, has sent over 1,000+ basketball, baseball, soccer, and golf playing student-athletes to the collegiate level of athletics since its doors opened in 2012. Co-Founded by former Clemson University Hall of Famer and 8-year NBA veteran, Trevor Booker and his college teammate and entrepreneur, Jonah Baize, Combine Academy has grown to become a household name in Sports Education.
