The Binghamton men’s basketball program has announced the hiring of Bryan Goodman as an assistant coach. He brings over a decade of Division I coaching and administrative experience with three successful programs.

In addition, current assistant coach Ben Luber has been elevated to the position of associate head coach. At 28, he is the youngest current men’s basketball associate head coach at the NCAA Division I level.

Goodman and Luber are part of a coaching staff that also includes second-year head coach Tommy Dempsey, assistant coach Lazarus Sims and Director of Basketball Operations Herb Courtney. Goodman replaces former assistant coach Andrew Wilson.

Goodman has been the Associate Head Coach at CSU-Bakersfield the past two seasons. While there, he was actively involved in a program that recorded its first wining season at the Division I level in 2011-12 and earned a bid to the post-season CIT.

Prior to his stint at Cal-State Bakersfield, Goodman was at Oklahoma for six seasons. He was the Director of Basketball Operations from 2006-10 and was an assistant coach during the 2010-11 campaign. The Sooners advanced to the Elite Eight of the 2009 NCAA Tournament. While at Oklahoma, Goodman helped coach current NBA standout Blake Griffin.

From 2000-06, Goodman was an assistant coach at Bucknell University. The Bison won the Patriot League title in 2005 and 2006 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2006.

A 1996 graduate of Barat College, Goodman got his start in coaching at his alma mater as an assistant coach from 1996-98. He then became an assistant coach at Susquehanna University from 1998-00. It was in his second year at Susquehanna that Dempsey was also an assistant coach on the staff.
