Green Mountain College men’s basketball head coach Ben Davis has announced the addition of new assistant coach Blake Molden to his staff for the 2016-17 season.

“We are very excited to add a coach of Coach Molden’s character to our staff,” said Davis. “He is a great leader and role model both on and off the court.”

Molden will be instrumental in all aspects of the Eagles’ basketball program, including on floor coaching, recruiting, scouting, practice planning, administrative tasks and fundraising.

Before coming to Green Mountain, he had spent the past several years leading a team of six employees as the lead contractor for AAA in Minnesota.

Molden is a Davis disciple having played for two years at Dakota County Technical College under Davis from 2012-2014 where he collected 127 points while shooting 48.5 percent from the field and 48.1 percent from beyond the arc. He also grabbed 127 career rebounds and registered 29 steals from the guard position.

Molden is looking forward to getting started with the men’s program as the season rapidly approaches.

“I am extremely excited to be here at Green Mountain College and to be a part of the men’s basketball coaching staff as well,” said Molden. “It is a pleasure to be able to work alongside my former coach, Ben Davis, at this point of my career as a first-year coach. I look forward to working with the young men on the team and I can’t wait for the season to start.”

Molden rounds out Davis’ staff which also consists of returning sixth-year assistant coach Chris Jenkins and part-time student assistant coach George Gera as well as first-year student assistant coach Sampson Dale.
