Maine men’s basketball head coach Bob Walsh will be hosting his third annual Dynamic Leadership Academy on June 8-9 at Rhode Island College in Providence, R.I.
“We started the Dynamic Leadership Academy two years ago as a way for young leaders and coaches to learn and share ideas about leadership, and to develop their own personal leadership philosophy,” commented Walsh. “It includes speakers from various fields and interactive discussion on leadership, with an emphasis on an uncommon approach. It’s grown into a fantastic two days of learning and discussion on leadership.”
The goal of the Academy is to create interactive discussion on leadership and team building. Speakers will touch on a number of different leadership topics while providing different perspectives from head coaches, assistant coaches, athletic administrators and the media. It is an interactive two-day seminar that offers access to a championship program and an uncommon approach that will help define your leadership style.
Cost for the two-day academy is $110 and covers Monday’s session (1-6 p.m.) and Tuesday’s period (9 a.m.-3 p.m.). Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. on Monday.
Over 160 coaches and leaders from different fields have attended the Dynamic Leadership Academy in the past two years. Speakers have included Pat Lyons (Seton Hall AD), Ed Cooley (Providence), Kyle Smith (Columbia), Dan Yorke (DYComm Media), Mike Rice (former Rutgers Coach), Phil O’Brien (Harvard Business School) and Walsh.
