Brown University Director of Athletics Michael Goldberger announced today that the contract of head men’s basketball coach Jesse Agel would not be renewed. Agel’s contract expires June 30, 2012. Agel has been the head coach at Brown for the last four years, after working as an assistant coach on the Brown staff for two seasons. He posted a four-year 39-79 overall record, including a 14-42 Ivy League mark. Agel’s 2011-2012 team posted a record of 8-23, with a 2-12 Ivy League record. Brown associate head coach TJ Sorrentine will take over on an interim basis.
