Binghamton’s Kevin Broadus has been placed on a paid leave of absence after the latest incident involving the men’s basketball program. After 6 players were dismissed from the program last month, the program began to be closely monitored. In the wake of this, AD Joel Thirer resigned. Finally, last week, Broadus and an assistant were accused of making contact with two recruits after the contact period had ended. This seemingly marks the end of the Broadus era (error?) at Binghamton. Many knew this was coming, just not this soon.
Assistant Mark Macon will take over on an interim basis. I would expect new AD Jim Norris to do his research and conduct a national search – this will be a big hire for Norris and the University to prove that they are back on the right track.
