MLive.com’s Graham Couch is reporting that Eastern Michigan head coach Rob Murphy is departing for a job with the Orlando Magic. The former Syracuse assistant has only been at EMU for one season (14-18). He has no pro experience – he spent seven seasons at SU, and two at Kent State. He has also been a HS coach in Detroit. Multiple sources are reporting that he will most likely accept a position with the Magic’s scouting department. More on this as it becomes official.
