Eddie Jordan has been fired as the head basketball coach at Rutgers University. The move, which comes as no surprise, is expected to be officially announced by Rutgers later this afternoon.
Jordan, a former player at Rutgers, was hired back in 2013 after a long stint in the NBA. The former head coach of the Wizards, 76ers, and Kings, was hired to breathe new life into the Scarlet Knights program after the Mike Rice era ended.
Rutgers finished this season with a 7-25 (1-17 B1G) record. Jordan concludes his tenure at his alma mater with a 29-67 overall record.
More on this after Rutgers releases their statement.
