Marshall athletic director Mike Hamrick announced early Thursday that his school’s search for a new men’s basketball coach is complete, and a source confirmed to CBSSports.com that Dan D’Antoni will fill the position.
D’Antoni is the brother of Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni.
The development was first reported by WSAZ-TV’s Keith Morehouse.
D’Antoni, 66, has been an assistant for his younger brother, Mike D’Antoni since 2005 with the Suns, Knicks and Lakers. He played for the Thundering Herd from 1966 to 1970.
