UIC Athletic Director Jim Schmidt has announced that Howard Moore will not return as head coach of the Flames’ men’s basketball program for the 2015-16 season.
"I want to thank Howard Moore for his five years of commitment to UIC Athletics," said Schmidt. "We have high expectations and aspire to be at the top of the Horizon League and we have not met our competitive goals. We have dedicated and talented student-athletes in the basketball program who are committed and make us optimistic for the future. I wish Howard the very best of luck going forward."
Moore compiled a 49-111 record in five seasons as the head coach at UIC, including a 17-67 Horizon League mark. The Flames finished this season with a record of 10-24.
UIC Athletics will immediately begin a search for the next head men’s basketball coach.
