According to the Tulsa World, Jeff Capel has been fired as the head coach at Oklahoma. In five seasons at OU, Capel went 96-69 (37-43 Big 12). He took his Sooners squad to the Elite Eight two years ago. It has been reported that he has 5 years remaining on his contract and could be owed as much as $2.1M. The official announcement by AD Joe Castiglione is expected shortly.
