**UPDATE**

According to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, Reed was fired for refusing to cooperate with a University investigation and insubordination. The News-Journal obtained the termination letter which read in part: "Please be advised that the University has decided not to offer you a new employment contract as head men’s basketball coach, and your employment as head men’s basketball coach is terminated effective immediately. This decision is based on your failure to cooperate and insubordination with respect to the University’s investigation into allegations against the University and its men’s basketball program."
