I have confirmation from a great source that Bryon Samuels has been named head coach at Florida A&M. He replaces Clemon Johnson who was released earlier this spring. Samuels has been the head coach at Hampton (1995-97) and Radford (2003-2007). He was most recently and administrative staffer on Mark Fox’s staff at Georgia. He has also been an assistant at Tennessee, South Florida, and Washington State. I have also heard that assistant coach Terrance Chatman will be retained by Samuels. Chatman came to FAMU last fall and has also worked as an assistant at Central Michigan. The official announcement of Samuels hiring is expected after HR gives the green light which is should be in the next few days.
