BREAKING: Zeigler fired at Central Michigan

Central Michigan University Director of Athletics Dave Heeke announced today that men’s basketball coach Ernie Zeigler will not be retained after six seasons as head coach. Zeigler is released from the final two years of his contract, which was extended in April 2010 following his winningest season (15-15). That season was followed by a 10-21 mark in 2010-11 and an 11-21 record this year. He compiled a career record of 75-111 (.403). Zeigler will be paid $368,437 according to the buyout clause in his contract. A national search will begin immediately.
