On Saturday, February 4th, the playing surface at Briar Cliff University’s Newman Flanagan Center will be officially named Ray Nacke Court. The official dedication will take place prior to the start of the 4 p.m. men’s basketball game that day against Mount Marty.
Nacke coached the Chargers for 26 years, compiling over 500 career wins. He created the well-known Panama Pipeline and took the Chargers to 11 NAIA National Tournaments. Following his career with the Chargers, he was inducted into both the Briar Cliff Athletic Hall of Fame and the NAIA Hall of Fame.
There will be a special tribute to Coach Nacke at halftime of Saturday’s game and there will also be a video presentation and a meet and greet with the legendary coach following the game.
