Bridgewater College men’s basketball head coach Shawn Postiglione has completed his staff for the upcoming season with the addition of assistant coaches Marcus Anderson and Michael Lockard.
“We are excited to have Marcus and Michael join our staff,” said Postiglione. “They are passionate and knowledgeable individuals with a strong work ethic. Both men will fit in well with our team and our culture.
“Marcus and Michael each bring unique perspectives from their collegiate experiences that will help our student-athletes in their growth and development. It will be great having them on the court this month as we practice for our foreign tour to Costa Rica.”
Anderson is a 2018 graduate of Lees-McRae College where he played basketball. An injury cut short his playing career, but he continued to work with the team as a student assistant where he took part in the day-to-day operations of the program.
An honors student at Lees-McRae, Anderson graduated with a degree in business administration and sports administration.
Lockard is a 2017 graduate of James Madison University. While at JMU, Lockard was a practice player for the Dukes women’s basketball team where he played on the scout team and participated in practice drills with the team. He also tutored JMU student-athletes in their study of finance.
He most recently worked as an assistant boys’ basketball and baseball coach at Fairfax High School.
Lockard graduated with a degree in sports and recreation management with a minor in business.
