Western Carolina alum Adam Bullard has joined the Catamount men’s basketball coaching staff under first-year head coach Tim Craft, it was announced this week. Bullard spent seven seasons progressing on the staff with Craft at Gardner-Webb after graduating from WCU in 2017.
Bullard is the second assistant coach to follow Craft from Gardner-Webb to Cullowhee as he joins Andrew Brown on the Catamount staff.
Bullard began his coaching career as a graduate assistant under Craft at Gardner-Webb, spending two seasons in the role before being tabbed as the programs Director of Basketball Operations following the Runnin’ Bulldogs first-ever NCAA tournament appearance in 2018-19. He held the operations role for two additional seasons before again earning a promotion on Craft’s staff as the Director of Scouting and Player Development.
Bullard spent the 2023-24 season as an assistant coach at Gardner-Webb, garnering his third promotion during his time at Gardner-Webb. He was also the head coach of the 2018-19 reserve basketball team which played its inaugural season against other collegiate junior varsity programs around the region.
While an undergraduate at WCU, Bullard was a student assistant with Catamount men’s basketball. He received his start in coaching at the high school ranks as he was the head boys basketball coach at the Blue Ridge Early College in Cashiers, N.C., from 2015-17.
Originally from Robbins, N.C., Bullard graduated from Western Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2017 before earning his Master’s degree in sports education at Gardner-Webb in 2019.
Bullard is married to the former Jasmine Duncan of Waynesville, and the couple has a son, Redick.
