Under new head coach Brandon Miller, the Butler men’s basketball program has announced it will retain assistant coaches Terry Johnson and Michael Lewis for the 2013-14 season.
Johnson will be in his ninth season on staff at BU, including two as director of basketball operations from 2004-06. He has been an assistant for the Bulldogs since 2007. He previously made stops at IPFW, Auburn, Lincoln Trail JC and Indiana Tech.
Lewis, who played guard under Bob Knight at Indiana from 1997-2000, will be in his third season on staff at Butler. He was hired at BU in 2011 after stops at Loyola, Eastern Illinois, Stephen F. Austin and Texas Tech. Lewis was the 1996 High School Gatorade Player of the Year while playing at Jasper High School in southern Indiana.
Miller, a 2003 Butler graduate who started at point guard for BU’s 2003 NCAA Sweet 16 team, was hired as the Bulldogs’ head coach Saturday, July 5 after being hired as an assistant in April.
