Head men’s basketball coach Aaron Galletta has announced the return of Joe Cabral as Associate Head Coach for the upcoming season.
“We are very excited to have Joe back with the men’s basketball program,” said Galletta. “His tireless work ethic and recruiting prowess will be a welcomed addition to the staff.”
Cabral returns to Lasell as Associate Head Men’s Basketball Coach after a one-year stint at Rhode Island College. Cabral spent the previous two years on staff at Lasell College, serving as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the men’s basketball program, highlighted by the 2013-14 team that finished 18-12 and reached ECAC Finals.
Prior to Lasell, Cabral was employed at Dean College as Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. He helped the Bulldogs reach the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 21 Championship Game, with an overall 17-6 record.
Cabral is a 2012 graduate of Mount Ida College, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He was a four-year member of the Men’s Basketball Team, serving as Team Captain for his final 3 years. During his time at Mount Ida, Cabral played in 100 games, starting 71. He was a three-year GNAC Academic All-Conference member, and is also a member of the conference’s 500 career rebound club.
