Back on 3/13, I mentioned Tallahassee CC head coach Rick Cabrera’s involvement at Northwestern State. I can now 100% confirm what Jon Rothstein tweeted – Cabrera will be named as the Demon’s new head coach.

The former assistant at Arkansas State, Austin Peay, Tennessee Tech, and Chattanooga currently has TCC at 29-5 and set to play in the second round of the NJCAA D1 tournament on Wednesday.

In addition to his time at TCC and as a D1 assistant, Cabrera also spent four seasons as a head coach at NJCAA Lackawanna College, where he went 100-29 (.775).

He will replace Corey Gipson, who became the head coach at Austin Peay a few weeks ago.
