Farrad McLaughlin has been named assistant coach at Cabrini College. McLaughlin comes to Cabrini after four years a head men’s basketball manager at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Among his responsibilities were to manage the program’s daily operations, including practice and travel, assist the coaching staff with scouting reports, help with individual workouts and monitor study halls.
During his four years with the Crimson Hawks, the program won four Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West titles and a pair of PSAC Tournament championships, recorded 20 wins each year and ended each season with an NCAA Tournament appearance. IUP also appeared in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional final in 2011 and 2013.
McLaughlin has also worked the camp and AAU basketball circuit for the last several years. In addition to working Hoop Group Elite Camps and Jam Fest Tournaments, McLaughlin has also worked camps at Rider, Syracuse and Villanova.
The West Philadelphia native, who attended IUP on a full academic scholarship, graduated in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and a minor in Business.
