The search to replace Tom Parrotta at Canisius is well under way. Here are some of the names that I’ve heard….

Jim Baron – Former Head Coach URI. Was the head coach at St. Bonaventure before URI – knows the area. He is definitely the front runner here (if Canisius can afford him). Some are reporting that he has already been offered the job.

Anthony Evans – Head Coach Norfolk State. Has become a “hot” name all of a sudden after his squad upset #2 Mizzou in the tourney. He is a NY native who went 62-8 as the head coach at Delhi Tech (NY)– also served as the head coach at Ulster CC (NY). His team won 26 games this past season.

Jayson Gee – Associate Head Coach Cleveland State. Has also been an assistant at St. Bonaventure, Youngstown State, and Ohio. Went 160-55 in seven seasons as the head coach at his alma mater Charleston (WV).

Bob Walsh – Head Coach Rhode Island College. DIII guy who was involved with searches at Iona and Manhattan last year. Has been an assistant at Providence and San Diego. Holds a record of 158-50 in his 7 seasons at RIC.
