JaQuan Casey has been named Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Brevard College, announced Head Coach Lee Burgess. Casey will begin his duties at BC immediately in advance of the 2024-25 season.
“Our program is very excited to have JaQuan join our family,” said Coach Burgess. “His enthusiasm for the game will be felt by everyone he comes in contact with. I know our players are going to benefit tremendously from having him in our program.”
Casey arrives at Brevard after most recently serving as Associate Head Coach at Borough of Manhattan Community College in New York City.
“I am beyond grateful to be joining the Brevard College family,” said Casey. “I would like to thank Coach Lee Burgess for trusting me with the opportunity to coach and learn from him. I’m so excited to meet the players and to get started at Brevard College.”
Last season, Casey helped guide Borough of Manhattan Community College to a runner-up finish at the highly competitive CUNYAC (City University of New York Athletic Conference) championships. In 2022-23, Casey held the title of Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for Dallas Christian College in Farmers Branch, Texas. At Dallas Christian, he assisted in leading the Crusaders to a NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) Final Four appearance.
Additional basketball coaching experience for Casey included serving as Assistant Coach at Blue Valley Northwest High School and Mokan Elite of the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League in Overland Park, Kansas. His coaching career began with positions at Ben Davis High School and Perry Meridian High School in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Casey graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance from Fort Hays State University in Kansas and also holds Associate degrees in Sport Management and Kinesiology from Vincennes University in Indiana.
