Liberty University Director of Athletics Jeff Barber has announced Dale Layer has been relieved as head men’s basketball coach. Liberty Athletics has hired Collegiate Sports Associates to help with the immediate national search for the ninth head coach in program history. UPDATE: Graceland (IA)
Yesterday, I reported that there had been a change made at Graceland (IA). I can now confirm that head coach Jeffrey Hamilton will step aside at the end of the season to "be closer to family." Hamilton will continue to coach the team through the playoffs – they face Central Methodist tonight in the HAAC
JC RUMOR: Cotten out at Panola (TX)
I heard from a source this morning, and have now confirmed from one of my favorite sources, that Panola College (TX) head coach Junsie Cotten is out. He just wrapped up his third season at Panola (7-22). Cotten, a JC veteran, has also been the head coach at Midland and Lincoln Trail. More on this
DIII Rumor: Changes made at Goucher
It sounds like Goucher College (MD) head coach Leonard Trevino has resigned. Hoopsville’s Dave McHugh first tweeted it earlier this afternoon, and we have since confirmed that Trevino has resigned after after 25 years at the helm. His squad was 4-21 this season, and he wraps up his tenure with 277 wins at the school.

I have confirmed that Pat Kennedy is no longer the head coach at Pace University (NY). Kennedy had been at Pace for just two seasons. I can now confirm that Todd Adrian is no longer the head coach at DIII Otterbein University (Ohio). Adrian just finished his third season at the school – his team went 3-22 this year. He came to Otterbein from Edgewood (WI) where he spent six seasons as the head coach (97-65). No word yet on
