Central Arkansas will name its new basketball coach today at a 2:00pm press conference. The top two candidates – Russ Pennell and James Dickey (both alums of the university) have withdrawn from consideration. That leaves Matt Zimmerman, an assistant coach at Missouri who is a native of the area, Steve Forbes, an assistant coach at Tennessee; Tony Madlock, an assistant at Texas-El Paso; and Jeremy Cox, an assistant at South Florida. Our sources are telling us however that former NBA player Corliss Williamson could be the dark horse here. The Arkansas native is a 10-year NBA veteran who is now coaching at Arkansas Baptist College.
