Central Baptist College Men’s Basketball Staff Update

Central Baptist College basketball coach Clint Galyean announced that he has added two assistants, Patrick Mound and Anthony Morris to his staff.

Mound comes to CBC from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, where he served the past two seasons as a graduate assistant for the Lobos, including helping lead the 2016-17 team to an appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Mound played collegiately at both Angelo State, also in Texas, and at Sul Ross State, graduating from the latter in December of 2016.

“Our program is fortunate to add an up and coming coach in Patrick Mound,” said Galyean. “He has played and worked for two of the best in the business in Coach Chris Beard (Texas Tech) and Coach Clif Carroll (Sul Ross State). He is going to bring that championship mindset and help us continue to build upon the success this program has had in the previous two seasons. Our student-athletes are going to love being coached by him on a daily basis.”

Morris comes to CBC for his first coaching opportunity of any sort. As a player, Morris spent time at Snow College, an NJCAA institution in Utah before transferring to NCAA Division II Dixie State, also in Utah and graduated from Dixie State in 2016. Morris was also a three-sport athlete in high school in Nevada, where he played basketball, baseball and ran track and field.

“Anthony is a man of great character and is extremely professional,” added Galyean. “He has a genuine passion for the success of our student-athletes on and off the court. Our program, as well as our institution as a whole, is fortunate to have Anthony a part of the CBC family.”
