Concordia University, St. Paul director of athletics Tom Rubbelke has announced the opening of the head men’s basketball coaching position, effective immediately.
The position had been held by Kelly Boe for the previous eight seasons. Boe finishes his career as Golden Bear head coach with an overall record of 108-112 with a 78-86 record in Northern Sun play.
His career as head coach was highlighted by leading the club to the best season in school history in his first year in 2006-07 as the team set the school wins record with a 21-8 finish. That season was also accompanied by the program’s best NSIC record of 13-5, good for third in the final standings.

The program will retain assistant coaches Andrew Kuderer and Ron Gates while associate director of athletics Brian Jamros ([email protected] or 651.603.6314) will lead the program during the transition period. Jamros will be responsible for recruitment efforts and organizing all team activities.
