Charlotte Announces Addition of Trevor DeLoach to Men’s Basketball Coaching Staff

Charlotte Men’s Basketball added a new face to its coaching staff in Trevor DeLoach, a former Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for UTSA, who will now assume similar duties on Head Coach Aaron Fearne‘s staff with the 49ers.

We’re extremely excited to announce the addition of Trevor DeLoach to our staff,” Fearne said. “He’s an elite recruiter, coach, and mentor with unique qualities and a perspective that will benefit our players and program.”

DeLoach brings a history of success with multiple programs.

He joined the Roadrunners after three seasons as an assistant coach at Jacksonville. Primo Spears was named to the All-American Athletic Conference Second Team last year under DeLoach’s watch, on top of his success finding and developing talent with the Dolphins in his prior stop.

DeLoach was part of 50 wins in three seasons at Jacksonville, including a runner-up finish in the 2022 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship behind a scoring defense that was No. 4 in the country under his tutelage.

Kevion Nolan was also named to the All-ASUN First Team in 2021-22. DeLoach was once again pivotal in bringing Tommy Bruner to Jacksonville through recruiting, the nation’s No. 2 scorer during the 2023-24 season.

Before joining Jacksonville’s staff, DeLoach was an associate head coach at Nicholls and recruited six players who eventually received All-Southland Conference honors. Ty Gordon was among them and earned the conference’s 2020-21 Newcomer of the Year nod on top of team success that saw the Colonels win a regular-season conference championship, thanks to 21 wins before an eventual spot in the Southland Conference Championship.

“He is an incredible relationship builder,” Fearne said. “He has won at every level he has been in the last 11 years as a Division I assistant coach.

“We are thrilled to have him in Charlotte with us.”
