Chase Teichmann Named Assistant Basketball Coach at Florida College

Head Coach and Athletic Director, Pat Todd, announced the appointment of Chase Teichmann, as the assistant men’s basketball coach at Florida College.

“We are very excited to welcome Chase to our basketball family. Chase has had the opportunity to learn from some outstanding coaches in our profession. He understands the culture of Florida College and what it takes to compete at the highest level. His ability to connect with his players and impact them on and off the court will be a great asset to our program.”

Teichmann, a Brentwood, TN native, graduated from UT Chattanooga in 2015, where he served as a student assistant for the men’s basketball team under Head Coach Will Wade.

Teichman has spent the last two years as a graduate assistant basketball coach at Freed-Hardeman University. In his first year at FHU the Lions finished 25-8 and were the American Midwest Conference Regular Season Champions. During his two years at FHU the Lions were 44-20 and appeared in the NAIA DI National Tournament. Teichmann was instrumental in recruiting Evan Forhetz and Cameron Lewis. Lewis was an NAIA 1ST Team All American and Conference Player of the Year. Forhetz was Honorable Mention All American, two time 2nd Team All Conference, and Conference New Comer of the Year in 2015.

“I’m extremely honored to join the staff at Florida College. What Coach Todd is building at Florida College is exciting. We share the same vision and values and I am honored to have this opportunity. FC is a great place to recruit student-athletes who want an excellent education and compete for championships. I am looking forward to getting to know the Tama Bay area and connecting with the high school coaches throughout Florida.”

Florida College has been a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) were they compete as Division I member. The Falcons are fresh off a National Tournament appearance this season. Florida College was just granted membership in the NAIA where they will compete as a Division I member in men’s and women’s basketball.
