I have heard from multiple sources that Chicago State intends to hire Alcorn State head coach Landon Bussie, with the official announcement coming tomorrow.
Bussie was reportedly a finalist last year before Chicago State promoted assistant Scott Spinelli to the position. Spinelli resigned from the position after just one season a few weeks ago.
Bussie has spent the past five seasons at Alcorn State where he has gone 66-83 (.443). His best season came in 2022-23, when he went 18-14.
Chicago State AD Prairie View A&M University Dr. Monique Carroll and Bussie have both previously worked at Prairie View A&M.
