Chlebek Named Assistant Basketball Coach at Florida College

Chlebek comes to Tampa after spending the past four seasons on the sidelines for Ave Maria University.

At AMU, his duties included assisting with recruiting, on-court coaching, scouting for the program, as well as, assisting with scheduling and academic monitoring for the team.

Prior to Ave Maria, Chlebek came from NCAA Division III College of Wooster where he played and assisted under legendary coach Steve Moore.

Originally from Naples, Fla., Chlebek comes from a rich family history of NCAA Division I college coaches. His grandfather was the head football coach at Boston College, Eastern Michigan, and Kent State as well as being an assistant coach for Notre Dame. His father was an assistant coach at Colorado, while his uncle was an assistant basketball coach at Florida A&M.

“It is an exciting time to join the Florida College community,” said Chlebek. “I am grateful for the opportunity Coach Teichmann has given me. I look forward to working with the great people in our program and those that support it as well. Go Falcons!”

“We are extremely excited to have Coach Chlebek join our coaching staff,” said Head Coach and Athletic Director Chase Teichmann. “He has been part of a great program down at Ave Maria that I have an immense amount of respect for. This was a no-brainer for us. Coach Chlebek will be a tremendous help for us and make a positive impact right away.”

Chlebek is the first addition to the coaching staff in the last three seasons. He replaces Bryan Doze, who is departing to take a college head coaching job, soon to be announced.
