Chris Lydon Added To Tufts University Men’s Basketball Coaching Staff

The Tufts University men’s basketball coaching staff continued to grow with the announcement of the appointment of Chris Lydon as a new assistant coach heading into the 2023-24 season.

“I am excited to have Chris join us here at Tufts,” said head coach Brandon Linton. “Being local, I’ve been able to see Chris first-hand how much he has contributed to the Suffolk program during his time there. Chris is a natural communicator and connector and I look forward to the energy that he will bring into our program.”

Lydon comes to Medford after serving as an assistant coach at Suffolk University since 2021, where he helped the Rams to back-to-back 16 win seasons during the squads first two years in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. Prior to Suffolk, Lydon was an assistant coach at Wheaton College for the 2020-21 year after serving as a volunteer assistant at Division I Northeastern University in 2019-20. As part of the Huskies’ staff, he helped with video analysis and on-court metrics.

The former University of Massachusetts player earned a full scholarship with the Minutemen after walking on to the Division I program. He graduated with Scholar-Athlete honors from the UMass Isenberg School of Business in the Mark H. McCormack Sports Management program.

“I am incredibly excited to join Coach Linton and Tufts University,” said Lydon. “To be a part of one of the best academic institutions as well as one of the top athletics programs in Division III has always been a dream of mine, and I am thankful for the opportunity. I look forward to assisting the student-athletes at Tufts with their goals both on the court and off.”
