Christian Hildebrandt has been hired as the Graduate Assistant at Central Methodist University and will assist in both the varsity and junior varsity programs. “I think we hit the jackpot.” Explains CMU head coach Jeff Sherman. Coach Hildebrandt is a winner! He has a tremendous work ethic and knowledge on the game of basketball. He has enjoyed a successful prep career at Park Hill South High School in Riverside, Missouri and achieved a great amount of success over his collegiate career.
Christian’s collegiate career took him to Johnson County Community College for his freshmen and sophomore years before playing Division I basketball at the University of Texas Pan American (Now University of Texas Rio-Grande Valley.) Hildebrandt decided to transfer back closer to home for his final senior season and was one of the top players at William Jewell College under legendary coach and former CMC Head Coach Larry Holley.
This past season 15-16, Christian worked in school suspension at East Gate Elementary in Kansas City, while serving as Assistant Coach at William Jewell College. Christian helped with on the floor coaching, recruiting, video breakdowns and individual player development.
“I believe we will involve Christian in as much as we can at CMU. He will be an excellent role model for our CMU Athletic Community and his influence and passion for the game of basketball will be a direct benefit to our individual players and overall program. I am excited to have his talent and expertise. Coach Hildebrandt will be overseeing individual development, scouting and recruiting and helping monitor academic excellence within the basketball program.”
I see a bright future for coach Hildebrandt and excited for these next couple of years.” Says Sherman. Christian will be pursuing a Master’s degree in Education at Central Methodist University. He will reside in Fayette.
