I have mentioned the search at The Citadel a bunch of times – it now seems like they are getting closer to making a hire. Back on 3/12, I mentioned that VMI’s Duggar Baucom was at the top of the list. While I still believe he is, there are three more names that seem to round out the Final Four here. This is who I am hearing:

• Duggar Baucom – Head Coach VMI. Obviously familiar with coaching at a service academy – has been at VMI since 2005. Is 151-159 during that time. Was also the head coach at Tusculum (37-19 in 2 seasons)

• Doug Novak – Head Coach Bethel College (MN). Another guy that I have already mentioned. Novak spent four years as the top assistant under Ed Conroy at The Citadel. He went with Conroy to Tulane for three seasons before becoming the head coach at Bethel. He has also been the head coach at Anderson (SC).

• Andy Fox – Assistant Coach Tulane. Another former Citadel assistant under Conroy. Has been at Tulane for five seasons, and spent four seasons before that at The Citadel. Worked as a GA for both Bruce Pearl and Buzz Peterson at Tennessee.

• John Krikorian – Head Coach Christopher Newport (VA). Another guy with service academy experience – was the head coach at the United States Merchant Marine Academy for four seasons (65-42). Since becoming the head coach at CNU in 2010, he has gone 102-37 (20-8 this season).
