Chipola JC Head Coach Greg Heiar has the inside track to becoming the Director of Operations at Memphis. He’s had a lot of success in his five seasons at Chipola, and could bring some guys with him. He is also rumored to be involved with an assistants spot at Southern Mississippi. Expect a decision in the next few days.

I’m also hearing that Nuggets scout Jack Murphy will hired as the 3rd assistant at Memphis. Look for an announcement after the play-offs

Mark White, the coach at Detroit Southeastern high school is rumored to be the next head coach at DII Adrian College. White has spent the last two seasons at Southeastern – he was the head coach at powerhouse Renaissance before that.

Lance Irvin may be the next assistant hired at DePaul. Irvin had served as an assistant under Joey Meyer at DePaul and also made stops at Loyola, Iowa State, Illinois State and Texas A&M before joining the Southern Illinois staff last season. Irvin has big-time Chicago connections – Irvin’s father started the Mac Irvin Fire AAU team – one of the most powerful in Chicago. His brother Byron starred at Julian HS (and played in the NBA for 3 seasons with the Bullets and Trailblazers), and his other brother Nick was an All-State player at Carver HS who now coaches at Morgan Park and with the AAU Fire.
