Matt Brock has been hired on as the new assistant men’s basketball coach for the Columbia College Cougars.
Matt brings over 10 years of collegiate basketball coaching and playing experience to Columbia. A Camdenton, Mo. native, Brock was a four year starter at Camdenton High School. He scored 1,469 points and made 295 three-pointers in his high school career, earning him a scholarship to NCAA Division II School Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo. As a captain his senior year, Matt led his squad to the NCAA Tournament.
When his collegiate playing days were over he began coaching at Green City High School, guiding the team to a 20-8 record and a district final appearance. Brock then transitioned to coaching college basketball after accepting an assistant coaching position at Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) University for a season before moving to Pittsburg State (Kan.) University where he has spent the last four seasons.
