Concordia College Director of Athletics Kathy Laoutaris ’93 has named John Cavaliere, currently the Associate Head Men’s Basketball Coach, as the new Head Men’s Basketball Coach.
Cavaliere led the men’s basketball program on an interim basis for the final 13 games of the 2017-18 season as he helped the Clippers to a 7-6 record during that span which included winning the final four games of the season.
We are so very excited to have John take over our men’s basketball program,” explained Laoutaris. “John stepped up at a critical time for our program and his dedication to the mission of our college and to the welfare of these young men has been remarkable. John has been an exemplary role model for these young men and we look forward to a new beginning.”
Cavaliere came to Concordia beginning with the 2013-14 season as an Assistant Coach for the men’s basketball program, a position he held for four seasons until his promotion to Associate Head Men’s Basketball Coach prior to the 2017-18 season. His high level of dedication to the program aided the Clippers on-court growth this season.
I could not be more excited and honored to be given this opportunity to lead the men’s basketball program at Concordia College,” stated Cavaliere. “My staff and I will work hard to take this program to new heights that proudly represents our great institution and community. My mission is to build our student-athletes into champions, both on and off the court. I look forward to the bright future of Concordia basketball.”
Cavaliere previously worked within the Philadelphia 76ers organization in the youth camp program as well as a scout for NetScouts Basketball where watching some of basketball’s best coaches inspired him to pursue a career in coaching.
