Damon Stoudamire has reached an agreement to become the next head coach at the University of the Pacific. Stoudamire made the move official in a post on The Players’ Tribune which was just released. He will replace Ron Verlin who was not retained after a lengthy suspension.
The seventh overall pick in the 1995 NBA draft, Stoudamire spent 13-seasons in the league before embarking on his coaching career. In addition to his two stints as an assistant at Memphis, he has also worked at his alma mater Arizona, and spent time as an NBA assistant with the Grizzlies.
