Mikey Coppersmith has joined the University of Maine at Farmington’s men’s basketball coaching staff for the 2021-22 season.
“I am thrilled to be adding Mikey Coppersmith to our staff at UMaine-Farmington,” said Sam Leal, UMF’s head men’s basketball coach. “Mikey will bring great energy and selflessness to our team. I trust in his experience developing basketball skills and I look forward to him being a strong resource for our student-athletes.”
Coppersmith is currently Head of Basketball Operations at Next Level Athletics, an AAU club in southern Maine. Last season, he was a Varsity Assistant & First Team Coach at Greely High School teaming with Head Coach Travis Seaver.
Coppersmith’s lead responsibilities at UMaine-Farmington will be player development and assisting in recruiting the next class of high-level student-athletes to the UMF men’s basketball program.
Coppersmith is finishing his degree online at the University of Southern Maine studying communications with a minor in race & ethnic studies.
