Corbin promoted at Shenandoah

Shenandoah University Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Doug Zipp and head men’s basketball coach Rob Pryor announced that Allen Corbin has been promoted to full-time assistant men’s basketball coach.

Corbin, who joined the SU staff as Pryor’s lead assistant prior to the 2011-12 campaign, becomes the 19th full-time coach in the department and the sixth full-time assistant.

Corbin played one year of basketball at Shenandoah before transferring to West Virginia University. He was a walk-on member of the Mountaineers basketball program during their run to the Elite Eight of the 2005 NCAA Tournament.

Following his 2006 graduation, Corbin was an assistant basketball coach at Musselman (W. Va.) and James Wood (Va.) high schools before serving on the staff at Shepherd (W. Va.) University for two seasons.

Pryor also announced that he has added Willie Lewis as a volunteer assistant. Lewis, a 2010 SU grad, previous was an assistant on the SU women’s staff from 2010-12.
