Director of Athletics Abe Naff has announced the hiring of Patrick Corrigan as Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Ferrum College. Corrigan will work under Head Coach Tyler Sanborn, who recently completed his first season at the helm of the Panther men’s basketball program.

Prior to Ferrum, Corrigan was Associate Director of Basketball Operations at University of North Carolina at Charlotte for the last three years. His responsibilities included team travel, budget, compliance paperwork, day-to-day basketball operations, recruiting visits, opponent scouting, and serving as the summer basketball camps co-director.

Corrigan also spent two years prior to that at UNC-Charlotte as a Program Assistant and a Graduate Assistant with the 49ers. In that capacity, he was responsible for video operations, opponent scouting, practice drills and helping with on-campus recruiting visits.

“We are excited to welcome Patrick to Ferrum,” said Sanborn. “He will provide an immediate impact to our program. I’ve known him for a long time dating back to his playing days at Hampden-Sydney College. He is a competitor and displays an incredible amount of class. We are very fortunate to have him with us.”

“I would like to thank Tyler Sanborn for giving me the opportunity to work along side him at Ferrum,” said Corrigan. “We have known each other for a while now, and we have a like-minded vision of what a successful program looks like. I am excited to work with Coach Sanborn in creating a culture of success by helping our players become the best leaders and players they can be.”

A native of Richmond, Virginia, Corrigan was a four-year point guard at Hampden-Sydney, serving as team captain his senior year. He graduated from Hampden-Sydney with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2013 with a double-maor in Applied Math and Psychology. Corrigan begins his duties on August 1.
